A few weeks ago I made a 'Garden of Eden' together with the eldery from nursing-home Peppelrode.
I painted an Adam and Eve, everyone else painted flowers and leafs for the garden. It was a lovely day!
Picture of the whole wall, hanging the flowers between Adam and Eve:
Adam:
And Eve:
They liked it! (And laughed about the small boobs of Eve...;))

Wednesday I was there to deliver my work, and I've already seen so many things I want to have...;)
So be there the 25th at 17:00!
This is one of the illustrations I'm participating with: (and which you can buy in the store ;))

A few weeks ago I made three newspaper illustrations in one week.
I like to work that fast!

First I made this one about families with problems.
A new idea for them is to find help in their own network, but it's not sure if that will work: some people promise to be there for the family, but when the help is actually needed, they aren't there.
Because of the fragility of this new plan, I thought a spider web would be a good metaphore.
The second one was for homosexual elderly.
In nursing homes homosexuality is taboo in most cases, and that shouldn't be!

The third was a cover illustration about optimism, and I got a brilliant idea (I thougt).
Below the sketch: The waves are giving way to the optimist. Years ago I sailed in an Optimist, that small boat you see is really called an Optimist!
Unfortunately the writer of the article could'nt find herself in a theme with a boat, she thought it was too much of a stereotype.
I find a good co-operation just as important as making a good illustration, so I made the illustration without the boat, but with the waves.

An illustration about being homesick to Brabant, and all habits from Brabant like 'worstenbroodjes' (bread with a sausage inside).
With the article came also a recipe to make your own 'worstenbroodjes'. I used the metaphor Hansel and Gretel:
follow the breadcrumbs and find your way back home.
Below both parts of the illustration: Gretel was on page 1 and the house on page 2.
